Location and history

Dukla is located in southern Poland, southeast of Kraków and near the Slovak border.

From the 6th-7th centuries, Slavic tribes began to populate this area. A village in this place is known from 1336.
During World War II, Dukla suffered especially in September 1944, when about 85% of the city was destroyed.
